I had a great time at Trearddur Bay Hotel, Anglesey yesterday. Meeting all the lovely couples and talking about their ideas and plans for their big day. It’s never too soon to start thinking about what you want for your wedding cake, whether is driven by what flavours you like or design you have in mind.
For instance, my inspiration for the wedding cake I displayed at this venue was very much the sea, the beach and sailing away together. I had some lovely compliments from couples attending the event as well as other businesses. My inspiration usually comes from talking to couples, what they enjoy as individuals and what brings them together.
As well as the design, how the cake tastes is just as important. Depending on how many tiers you have, you can have as many flavours too! I am often asked, what flavours would work well together? With this in mind I decided to put together flavour combinations that complimented each other for the cake tasters I took to the event, such as Lemon, Raspberry and Rosewater, and Vanilla!
